rcclogoMinistries

on phone MINISTRY means to serve. It's a concept found in the Bible, and best lived out by Jesus Christ. "Ministry" is service to God and also to people. In the Church, the goal is to strengthen and encourage people to grow holistically both as individuals and corporately into the maturity of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:7-16). Hence, at Riverlands Christian Church, we place God first in our lives through worship, prayer, and the way we live our lives. And, just as Jesus helped the people he met, we seek to do the same. We are committed to "serving this great city".

PASTORAL

Our pastors take the biblical command to care for people seriously - by preaching biblical truths, setting the church's direction, and developing a sense of 'family' within the church community. They work with church members to develop a community changed by Jesus and committed to reaching others with the life-saving gospel. Meet our pastors.

CHILDREN

Our ministries to children include Tiny Treasures (ages three to five), Extreme Kids (Years 1 to 4) and JAIKO (Years 5 & 6). Our programs are designed to provide a fun-filled environment for children to learn about God and grow in their walk with him. Our desire is to see each and every child know God personally, rather than simply knowing about God.

WOMEN

Women By Design places value on the fact we were designed and brought in this world by our awesome creator, who has a plan for each of us (we are God's handiwork - Ephesians 2:10). We desire for women to rise up and believe in their potential - to encourage other women around them - to help do life together. We provide social outings and topical activities for women of all ages, including those who are not Christians. Recent events have included a "Chocolate Indulgence" dinner, a "Pamper Night", health advice, and special events with visiting speakers.

WORSHIP | MUSIC

The Worship Team leads worship through music and influences the atmosphere of our Sunday services. We seek to give God the praise and worship he deserves. As well as the bands, soloists and support singers, the Worship Team has developed and is continuing to develop music written by Penrith musicians. Our dedicated and commited team of musicians often perform outside of 'Riverlands', and some have produced their own CDs.

PRAYER

Prayer is vital for a 'God-breathed church'. We believe prayer should take place within every aspect of church life, with Jesus at the centre of our everyday lives. A praying/worshipping church is united, caring, generous, growing and powerful - and therefore history-changing. As well as praying in our church services, we get together for intensive prayer in intercessory prayer groups, Connect groups, men's and women's groups and outreach groups.
